Oral simplex 2?

I had protected sex with a female after she said she didn't have any STD's. Later that week she went and got checked for every STD and came back positive for herpes simplex 2 but negative for herpes simplex 1.

She says she has never had a genital outbreak. She says she only gets oral cold sores but nothing else.

Is it likely the oral outbreaks are being caused by herpes simplex 2 strain? If so could it be localized to just the oral region and not in the genital region of the body.
