Herpes Outbreaks

What is time frame of an initial out break from the time you first become infected?

Thank you for submitting your question. I'm sure that many people suffering from herpes outbreaks have the same concerns.

Unfortunately there is no clear cut answer because the the virus that causes herpes is extremely "individualized". What I mean is that depending on the current health of the person who is infected will determine when an initial herpes outbreak can occur.

Typically though, an initial outbreak will occur between 7-21 days after becoming infected. Please keep in mind that if the person is relatively healthy with a strong immune system and great at managing stress it could take much longer before the initial outbreak happens. Additionally, the same person could only experience a mild outbreak and easily mistake it for something else.

Mild outbreaks will continue to occur until the person experiences a significant trauma to their immune system (cold, flu or even a bad sunburn) or something stress related.

I hope this has answered your question. Feel free to post more as you have them!

Wishing you Success and Happiness,
