Determined to Live With Herpes
One question I have for everyone out there. I am in my late 40's. I have read and seen of the statistics 20% of population has genital Herpes. So the odds for some in my age who who has been sexually and meets someone else that has been sexually. They likelihood that then both have the virus is very strong. Assume these partners have had sex with more then 5 people each in the last 20 years.
So here is what I don't understand with all the stories I have read online I have read a lot about dating. I never heard a story of someone being nervous to have the talk with a new partner and they find that their partner has it or got tested and didn't realize they have it.
If those stats are true the above scenario should happen very frequently why doesn't it. Thank you for taking the time to submit your question for our community.
I'll take a shot at answering your question...
I think that your given scenario does happen but what happens more often is that the other partners don't go out and get tested before having a sexual relationship with the person having to tell.
It's only after they start to exhibit signs and symptoms of HSV that they go get tested. At that point it's nearly impossible to narrow down with certainty who transmitted the virus.
Just my theory. Maybe others can chime in too!?
Wishing You Success and Happiness!
